Kimberly Ruch-Alegant is an attorney and the President of Alegant Law, P.C. representing people who have been injured at work or as a result of an accident, with a specialty in representing nurses, nurse's aides and other health care workers.

She attended Drexel University, graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and continued her education at the Temple University School of Law, graduating in 1999. She served as an editor on the Science and Technology Law Journal, publishing a paper on alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Ruch-Alegant has worked in various fields of law in addition to personal injury, including PIP subrogation, medical malpractice defense, mass tort defense, and personal injury. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and is admitted to practice before the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Ruch-Alegant is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Women in the Profession Committee, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Commission on Women in the Profession. From 2009 through 2011, Ms. Ruch-Alegant will co-chair the Women in the Profession committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association. In January of 2010, she began her three year term as a member of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association

Ms. Ruch-Alegant planned and presented a CLE course titled Preparing Your Witness to Testify: Tips and Techniques to Win Your Case. She also co-moderated a "Hot Topics" discussion panel at the 2008 Women in the Profession Summit. She chaired the 2009 Women in the Profession Summit, and is co-chairing the 2010 Women in the Profession Summit, all of which were presented by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.

Amy Schmitt has joined the firm as an associate.

Amy Schmitt received her Bachelor's degree from Rosemont College, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She aspired to attend law school but as the parent of a child with health problems, she postponed her academic plans to focus on parenting. Amy enjoyed a career in business while raising her daughter until she was invited to be a part of the first graduating class at Drexel Law School, graduating in 2009. She is passionate about protecting the rights of women and volunteered for Woman Against Abuse of Philadelphia from 2003-2006. During law school, she clerked at the firm of Kolsby, Gordon, Robin, Shore and Bezar. She was also a volunteer coach for the Overbrook High School Mock Trial Team from 2007-2008.

Amy has a unique understanding of both patients and providers experience in our healthcare system because of her personal experiences with her daughter. She also comes from a proud family of nurses. Amy is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association, and the Montgomery County Bar Association. She is on the ABA Health Law Committee and the Philadelphia and Montgomery County Bar Association Women in the Profession Committees.

Amy is passionate about protecting the rights of injury victims, and is one of the few lawyers who can honestly say that they attended law school to become a Plaintiffs' lawyer.
